Terra Alta, West Virginia

Terra Alta is located in Preston County, West Virginia, 40 miles east of Morgantown. We're about 19 miles south of the Pennsylvania border, and about 5 miles west of the Maryland border (very close to the Deep Creek Lake resort area).

Yes, "Terra Alta" is Latin for "high ground." We're atop the Potomac Highlands and endure very snowy winters in order to enjoy mild summers and the abundant natural beauty which surrounds us. We consciously selected Terra Alta because we like the lifestyle.
