About Pioneer Press

The Pioneer Press of W. Va, is a privately owned corporation founded in 1973 at Terra Alta, West Virginia. The organization was established by a former college professor for the specific purpose of providing to clients a full spectrum of services associated with printed materials, including design, writing, the development of artwork, layout, photography, printing, binding and mailing. The organization serves clients from West Virginia, Western Maryland, and indeed, across the United States. Work is principally done using photo lithography or offset printing; however, traditional letterpress composition and printing are also possible.

The entire organization is based on the premise of FULL SERVICE. We have the technical skills and long experience in printing and promotional fields and we're prepared to partner with you in developing your project(s). We pride ourselves in taking the hassle out of getting the job done--and done well.

Our 15 employees offer a variety of skills and talents, including complete graphic design (via computer, of course), photography (digital cameras are on hand for still and action work), writing (advertising and promotional skills included), in-house scanning of color photos and slides, over 100 years of pressroom experience in offset lithography, complete binding capabilities including saddlebinding and perfect binding equipment (Pioneer Press generally outsources case binding and other specialized work). The Pioneer Press also offers inkjet address printing directly on printed pieces, bulk mail addressing, sorting, etc., and related computer services including CASS-certified mailing operations and mail-merge.

We're not embarrassed to say we seek to continue to make a profit. But in the same breath, we emphasize that we succeed only in offering products and services which are highly useful to our clients. We wish to develop relationships. Happy clients who know and appreciate the value of working with the Pioneer Press return again and again and that's what has made us succeed for the past 25 years.

Regarding books, we've worked for the largest corporations in printing their histories or commemoratives. Just as importantly, we've also worked with private individuals in doing highly specialized books, histories, novels, poetry, etc. We don't expect you to know all the answers. We hope you'll learn to rely on the experience and professionalism we bring to every job we undertake.
