The Pioneer Press is on the cutting edge of computer typesetting and production and is making every effort to remain at the forefront. There's one major difference—some call it an advantage and others call it an obstacle. All our equipment is PC-based, as opposed to the Macintosh platform. We have scanners, OCR equipment, slide scanners, writeable CDs and DVDs, Zip drives, inkjet color proofing, a color copier and black-and-white laser printers interfaced to a network, as well as a film imagesetters and a platesetter. We do our work on Pentiums.

Our principal software experience is with Adobe InDesign, PageMaker, MS Publisher, CorelDraw, and Adobe Photoshop. Of course, we maintain an extensive library of Type 1 fonts. We also do database management and mailing list operations on these computers.

Don't fear if you've got a Mac. Especially if they're InDesign files there's no problem. And of course you can write PDF files and bypass all "platform problems."
